William Blake

Hamster, Hamster
Hamster, hamster, just a-smoulder,
Can't you be a little bolder?
Breathe there creatures small enough
For you to show them that you're tough?

William Blake (1757-1827) was a poet, engraver and mystic whose literary work included Jerusalem and (among his Songs of Experience) The Tyger, whose terrific opening - "Tyger! Tyger! burning bright/ in the forest of the night" - simply cries out to be parodied.
